What is the purpose of these time management tips? I have shared them with you so you can start managing your time better – today! Granted we can’t control how much time we have, but we can organize the time we do have to get the most out of it.
I’ve selected some of the best time management tips I’ve come upon and ones which I think are easier to follow, guaranteed to work and can be done by almost anybody.
1. Make a to-do list. What use is a to-do list? A to-do list will help you to prioritize your tasks into a manageable list, and allows you the satisfaction of crossing them off when completed. Make sure you write the list with the most important things at the top down to tasks that are low priority. The main thing is though, make sure you follow your list! Otherwise you may as well not have it!
2. Never underestimate the power of routine. Developing a strong one will make you less scattered. It prevents you from spending time reorganizing your list again and again.
3. Recognize importance over urgency. According to an article, importance leads to achievement of goals while urgency is more for the achievement of someone else’s needs or an uncomfortable situation. Importance should always prevail. Since your aim is to target goals that gives you the greatest gains.
4. Identify your time wasters. Doesn’t matter if it is playing online games, chatting on the phone, facebook, worrying, daydreaming, internet time – all these things make you less productive.
5. Track your time. You may want to keep a time management journal to record how you spend you time. This is better than guessing or estimating as often you will be wrong. By doing this you can work out what time of day you are most alert and productive. Schedule your work to be at these times.
I recall a friend of mine who said she admires her sister so much because of everything she can do. She’s member of the volleyball team, goes out for regular night outs with sets and sets of friends, studies hard and gets good grades, has a well-organized closet and follows her beauty routines religiously. While my friend, exhausted after coming home from work, throws herself on the bed and immediately doze off. The best way to save time when planning or preparing meals is to organize your refrigerator. While it may seem faster to put groceries away wherever you see a space, it can actually make things more time consuming. Take a look at these eight tips that will help keep your refrigerator clean and organized.
Get rid of the clutter. The night prior to trash collection is a great time to check the fridge for rotten or molding food. Get rid of expired leftovers every week to keep the fridge spacious and cool.
Once you have thrown away spoiled food, clean the shelves. Be sure to clean out jars and storage containers that held the foods or condiments that were tossed. If you don’t plan to reuse the glass or plastic containers, you can recycle them.
Rather than wait for a designated time of “extended refrigerator cleaning time,” use an antibacterial cleanser or cleaning wipe as soon as you notice a stain or spill. You can also avoid the spread of bacteria and some stains by wiping off jars and containers before placing them in the fridge.
The sooner you seal and store food that is left over from a meal or a snack, the better. This will limit the opportunity for bacteria to grow and spread onto your food. Using airtight containers will help prevent oxygen from encouraging the growth of germs as well.
One of the best ways to organize your fridge is to categorize your food and separate it accordingly. For example, place dairy items, produce, and meat in separate areas.
You can store small, like items that are not large in size in baskets or plastic containers. This will save you time when you are cooking dinner or other meals and everything will be easier to locate.
Keep items such as salad dressing, condiments, soda, or jelly on the door shelves. These types of items are less likely to rot in warmer temperatures. You can then make use of the space in the coldest areas of the fridge for items like milk or meat that should be kept as chilled as possible.
If you have the space, consider using a spare refrigerator. With the additional room, you can stock up on drinks for parties or just to make space in your main fridge for food items. You can keep unopened drinks cold and quickly replace emptied bottles in the main fridge, and have plenty of extra beverages available for when company arrives.

Is nothing going smoothly in your life and you feel scattered and you want to know how to organize your life? Perhaps now is the time to know how to organize your life and feel better. Helplessness is not a good feeling and this happens when things are unorganized. The negative feelings associated with this takes a mental and physical toll. If this is how you feel, then you owe it to yourself to get control and return sanity into your life.
The best angle to approach at this stress is to itemize daily events. Find time so interruptions can not get in the way. Making a suitable atmosphere helps a person to relax then focusing comes easier. Computers may be the favorite way to write but, paper and pen is preferred because it takes away online temptations like checking emails and it will let you focus.
Once the atmosphere is perfect, write down everything you can think of in your life that you feel creates chaotic stress. For many people, first thing in the morning is the worst part of the day because it is always rushed. Start dissecting your typical morning by asking yourself, how can you make the mornings calmer? Next, figure out if ten or fifteen minutes more in the morning can help you avoid this anxiety. Chances are, only ten minutes more would help eliminate the morning nightmares. Those ten extra minutes could make the day start with ease and if getting up earlier is not desirable, go to bed just a little bit earlier.
Inevitably there are some morning routines that can be done the night before, and this will help. Choose your clothes and set them out, avoid the morning decision making. Have the coffee in the coffee pot ready to go and make your lunch the night prior. Do not forget to have whatever you need for the next day at the door so in the morning there is no last-minute panic searching for something when you need to leave the house.
As for those nasty daily chores, get the family involved and start delegating some of what has to be completed. Why carry a load of chores when there are people who can help. Getting help will be a relief.
Too many things on a plate means something will fall off and it will get forgotten. Have paper handy at all times and a pen so that you can log what must be remembered; what better way to halt forgetfulness. Do not write reminders on those loose pieces of paper. The effort is good but these papers are the ones that get misplaced.
Finally, evaluate all the things you do in a typical day and in a typical week. Are there things that you can ditch? There is an old saying which is very true, burning a candle at both ends eventually ends up with no wax; this translates to breakdown or weakening your immune system making you susceptible to illness.
The dust must settle from time-to-time. It is the only way to see more clearly. Time to get organized!
