Whatever you decide to do with your junk, when you have officially gotten rid of it celebrate. Reward yourself. You deserve it.
The next thing you should do is get some organizational tools. Things like folders, shelves, and tubs can be used to make storing the stuff you decide to keep easier. Group your things into categories that will make finding things later, easy to do. Open up that closet with the “do not open if you value your life” sign on it. After everything has toppled out, get started. Use as many organizing tools as you need to get the job finished. When you’re done with this stage, there should be no room, drawer, or closet you are afraid of opening.
